Slant bed is angled. Chips fall off by themselves. Better rigidity, better for heavy cuts. Flat bed is simpler and cheaper. If you do heavy cutting and want a good finish, go slant. If your budget is tight and parts are small, flat bed works fine.
If the machine isn’t rigid, it chatters when you push it hard. Chatter kills accuracy, ruins surface finish, and wears out tools fast. A rigid cast bed stays stable even under heavy cuts. That’s why we build them this way – so you can push hard without worry.
Clean chips and coolant off the guideways every day. Check oil levels once a week. Look at the hydraulic system and coolant pump once a month. Keep a simple log. Catch small problems early – they won’t turn into big, expensive repairs. Good care doubles the machine’s life.
Yes. The speed in the spec sheet is for the standard setup. If you put on a hydraulic chuck, pneumatic chuck, or any special fixture, check its max RPM first. The machine’s torque stays the same, but the bigger your workpiece, the lower your cutting parameters need to be. Always adjust based on what you’re holding – don’t just max it out.
